I found this idea while I was randomly surfing blogs one day. I found it here, and showed it to the Hubby. He thought it was fun and the wheels started turning. Next thing I knew, he brought home a coffee table that a friend was getting rid of, broke out the glass and wood from the center sections, primed and painted it black, and was shopping for sheets of Lego brick. The kids absolutely LOVE it, and every kid that comes over walks right over to it and starts to play and build and create. I would like to get it out of my family room eventually, but for now – it works.
I’m linking to the Shabby Nest.
Where did you find the lego sheets at? We are working on a lego table out of na naws and pa paws old coffee table.
Thanks
Becky
Hubby found them at Walmart. I had looked into getting them on ebay and found several, but in the end it was cheaper (and easier) to get them at Wally-world. Hope that helps 🙂
Love this idea! I’m a kindergarten teacher and I need to make one of these for my classroom. Brilliant!
That is wonderful! I wonder if he could build a removable cover so that it is more coffee table after the kids go to bed.
THIS ROCKS!!! I’m sure my kids will gravitate towards this next time they are over 🙂
Leslie- We’ve had it for a couple of weeks, and your kids play on it too. It is funny – even a big middle schooler!
We need one of these at our house….my oldes is a lego fanatic!!
